POSITION SUMMARY

 

The incumbent in this position is responsible maintaining the grounds of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in a condition of safety, neatness, and aesthetic attractiveness.

 

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

(The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this class and are not all inclusive for specific positions.)

 

1.

Assist in coordinating, supervising and participating in the ground maintenance work of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

2.

Assist in assigning duties to ground crew, participates in those duties and inspects completion of work.

3.

Assist in any emergency as   needed.

4.

Observes all health hazards and warnings.

5.

Operates equipment, such as mowers, edgers, tractors and the like.

6.

Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor and performs other tasks and assumes such   responsibilities as may be assigned.

7.

Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of good business practices and demonstrates team work in daily activities.

8.

Is prompt, timely, and thorough in completing assignments and attending to details accurately and   efficiently.

9.

Meets attendance standards and complies with notification procedures for absences.

10.

Provides complete and accurate information in the conduct of business.

11.

Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of business.

12.

Complies with Hard Rock Hotel & Casino policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.

13.

Follows the daily work schedule and makes good use of time.

  

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

This position operates in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, and vibration.  Proper precautions are taken.  Subject to varying levels of noise, crowds and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume.  Required to work in elevated places inside and outside of the building such as lampposts and parking structures and enclosed areas. Works outside and is subject to all weather conditions.  Proper clothing is provided.

Ability to communicate effectively at all times, with customers as well as all levels of employees.

Able to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.

Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to basic hand and power tools.

Ability to effectively and efficiently move around work areas.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

 

Reading; ability to perform basic arithmetic, ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress that may be required. Must have five years’ experience in the grounds keeping field.

 

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

 

In addition to the other duties described herein, each and every employee has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

 

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the employee’s department.
  • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.
