    Manages the valet/bell staff by setting work schedules, assigning duties and supervising their day-to-day work. In addition to performing all the essential duties and responsibilities of the Valet/bell attendant, the Valet Captain supervises the Valet/Bell attendants to ensure an efficient and profitable operation by performing the following duties personally or through delegating of tasks.. The Valet Captain trains new staff in all aspects of bell service and corrects and coaches all staff on their performance.



    • Welcomes and greets all guests in a friendly, upbeat, and positive manner, using the guests’ name when possible.
    • Arranges for prompt parking and retrieving of vehicles of arriving and departing guests in a safe and friendly manner.
    • Opens vehicle doors, assists guests egressing their vehicles, and helps guests with luggage.
    • Works closely with other valet attendants to ensure all guests are welcomed and greeted.
    • Provides accurately filled out claim checks when receiving keys and explains to the guest how to re-claim their vehicle.
    • Parks and retrieves guests’ vehicles in a safe, responsible, and efficient manner in and from designated parking areas.
    • Provides accurate and timely information to management regarding any damage to guests’ or company vehicles.
    • Ensures that the driveway is never blocked, requesting assistance from Security if needed.
    • The ability to operate a variety of different vehicles in a safe and capable manner.
    • Provides exceptional customer service.
    • Attending staff meetings, morning meetings and other meetings as requested.
    • Perform all other duties as requested.
    • Assist in overseeing the hiring, advising, coaching, disciplinary action and termination of team members.




    • Deliver/pick-up luggage to and from guest rooms.
    • Understand daily hotel operations and level of service.
    • Educated and familiar with local and area recreational, dining, and cultural activities and attractions.
    • Act as an ambassador for Hard Rock Hotel and Casino lake Tahoe
    • Adhere to Luggage control procedures.
    • Record/read all pertinent information in the logbook on a daily basis.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
    • Oversee lobby traffic and welcome/assist outside guests.
    • Coordinate the support staff and their daily responsibilities
    • Assist in overseeing the hiring, advising, coaching, disciplinary action and termination of team members.
    • Attending staff meetings, morning meetings and other meetings as requested.
    • Perform all other duties as requested.
    • Respond to and perform tasks as instructed by Front Office management.





    Must have ability to:

    • Work in varying levels of crowds, smoke, and noise, the severity of which depends upon customer volume.
    • Work outside and is subject to all types of weather conditions.  Proper clothing is provided.
    • Have a valid Nevada driver’s license and a good driving record.
    • Communicate effectively with customers as well as all levels of employees.
    • Run across flat land as well as up and down stairs so as to park and retrieve cars in as little time as possible.
    • Reach and grasp keys so as to retrieve keys for customer vehicles.
    • Drive cars of all types.
    • Bend, squat, twist, carry, lift, push, and pull so as to be able to load and unload luggage weighing up to 65 pounds.
    • Observe and direct actions of subordinates.




    Knowledge of effective valet operations. Customer service and problem resolution skills required. This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through a minimum of two years of experience in guest services, with a minimum of 2 years in valet and/or bell/door functions or closely related experience.  Previous supervisory/management experience preferred.




    In addition to the other duties described herein, each and every employee has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:


    • Attend required training sessions offered by the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Lake Tahoe.
    • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
    • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
    • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the employee’s department.
    • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
    • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.
